EMAH FOX is a musician and producer based in Melbourne, Australia. Her dark brand of synth pop pits urgent beats and ominous synths against sweet polyrhythmic melody and lucid, intense vocals. Intricate production satellites around a three octave vocal range which shifts from restrained intensity to epic and soaring.
Her musical explorations have earned critical acclaim from ROLLING STONE ‘nothing sort of joyous’, MINISTRY OF SOUND ‘emotive vocals and fine lyrics’ and REVOLVER ‘world-class electronica’.
As a sound designer and composer for theatre since 2015, several of her scores have been nominated for Green Room Awards. From 2016-2021 she developed and led the ‘Synths for women +/ non-binary people +/ trans people’ workshops at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio, and her article 'Time, Autonomy & Self-expression in Sound' has been published in the ICMA Journal (International Computer Music Association). She is currently writing her upcoming debut solo synth-pop album 'Elements'.
